Special Olympics Basketball 2017

Five Saint Jo ISD students participated in the Special Olympics Basketball Competition on Thursday, February 16th at Saint Jo High School.  Josh Miller, Paris Crosby, Nevaeh Hacker, 
Hannah Gregg, and Evan Sublett participated in team and individual skills competitions at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels.  Nevaeh participated in the 3 on 3 tournament, along with unified partner, Amber Weatherread, and placed third.  Paris Crosby placed first in the modified ramp skills competition.  In the individual skills competition, Josh Miller placed third, Hannah Gregg placed first, and Evan Sublett placed third.  Josh, Hannah, and Evan placed third together for the team skills competition.  Many other athletes traveled from all over Montague County to participate as well.  A special thank you goes to the Saint Jo High School Senior and Junior class volunteers for their help.  A big thank you goes out to our Saint Jo athletes for their hard work in preparing for the competition and Laurie Martin, Special Olympics of Texas Trainer of the Year, for her continued hard work in organizing these events!
