Saint Jo School Board Recognizes Volleyball and Cross Country Teams
The Saint Jo ISD Board of Trustees recently recognized the Lady Panther Varsity Volleyball Team and the Varsity Cross Country athletes for their accomplishments in their respective seasons.
In cross country, lone female athlete Kaycee Jo Clark qualified individually to represent SJHS at the Regional Meet. On the boys’ side, a school record was set when they qualified as a team to the State Cross Country Meet. The boys team was made up of Collin Thomas, 4-time state qualifier, Brice Durham, Josh Vogel, Zeke Bonn, Kile Thurman, Julian Luna, Trent Gaston, Jayden Curry, individual state qualifier, and Elijah Young, individual state qualifier. They are coached by Ryan Bruce. These athletes put in many hours and even more miles within their season, with the goal of running at Round Rock for a state medal. Congratulations to these runners on their record setting season!
In volleyball, the Lady Panthers came up 1 game short of the state tournament, when they fell to eventual state champion Blum in the 1A Regional 3 finals. The team, led on the floor by lone senior Kayden Skidmore, included Reagan Wilson, Maxey Johnson, Krista Reeves, Aubrey Morman, Taylor Patrick, Aliyah Vasquez, Cara Vogel, and Payzlie Cervantes. The Lady Panthers were led by head coach Kelly Skidmore and assistant Kimberly Booth. Congratulations to the Lady Panthers on their outstanding season and the many accolades at the district, regional, and state level.
Saint Jo ISD is proud of each of these programs and their athletes for their hard work, commitment and their representation of the district. Keep up the great work!
