Saint Jo ISD Breaks Ground with All-Weather Track Project
Saint Jo, TX — Saint Jo Independent School District is proud to announce the construction of a new all-weather track at Harley Sewell Field, a major investment that will enhance athletic programs, physical education, and community wellness for years to come.
The new 7-lane track will provide a safe, durable, and high-quality surface that can be used year-round in a variety of weather conditions, allowing students to train and compete more consistently. In addition to supporting Saint Jo ISD athletic teams, the facility will also serve all levels of physical education classes and school-sponsored events.
“This is an exciting next step of continued progress for Saint Jo ISD! An all-weather track gives our students improved opportunities to train, compete, and stay active, while also serving as a valuable resource for our community,” said Katie Morman, Superintendent. “Funding for the project will come from district funds, reflecting the School Board’s long-term vision and commitment to responsible financial planning, and to giving our students the very best opportunities to succeed—on the field, in the classroom, and beyond.”
Construction of the track is expected to begin in January 2026, with completion anticipated by August 1, 2026. Once completed, the track will host practices, meets, physical education activities, and school events, creating new opportunities for students and bringing the community together.
Saint Jo ISD looks forward to celebrating this addition and the positive impact it will have on student achievement, school pride, and community engagement.
