Saint Jo ISD Celebrates Teacher and Staff Honors and Service
As Saint Jo ISD wrapped up another outstanding school year, the district proudly recognized employees whose dedication and commitment continues to make a difference in the lives of students every day.


2025-2026 Teacher of the Year honors were presented to Janna Atkinson, Elementary Teacher, and Jennifer Gaston, JH/HS Teacher, for their outstanding dedication to student achievement, instructional excellence, and commitment to the Saint Jo community. Mrs. Atkinson teaches Mathematics at Saint Jo Elementary, and Mrs. Gaston teaches Mathematics at Saint Jo JH/HS. "Teacher of the Year is one of the highest honors our district can bestow," said Katie Morman, Superintendent of Saint Jo ISD. "We are proud to recognize Janna and Jenn for the positive impact they make every day, both in the classroom and in our community. Their dedication, commitment, and passion for education truly represent the best of Saint Jo ISD." As Saint Jo ISD's Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Atkinson and Mrs. Gaston advance to the regional level and are considered for the Region 9 Teacher of the Year honor. This recognition places them among the outstanding educators across the region who exemplify excellence in teaching, leadership, and student achievement. The district wishes them the best as they represent Saint Jo ISD in the Region 9 Teacher of the Year selection process.
The district had five educators earn new distinction designations through the Texas Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) program for their exceptional classroom performance and commitment to student growth. TIA new designation earners included Cassidy Berry, Avery Fluitt, Janet Gaston, Courtney Hantz, and Kristal Nobile.
The district recognized seven employees for reaching significant longevity milestones, celebrating their years of service and lasting contributions to Saint Jo ISD.
5 years: Patrick Thompson.
10 years: Nancy Holcombe, Andy Maas, and Kristal Nobile.
15 years: Dale Melton.
20 years: Leslie Baker and Michelle Pledger.
"This school year was filled with great student success, accomplishments, and opportunities for growth," said Superintendent Katie Morman, "None of it would have been possible without the incredible people who serve our students each day. We are proud to celebrate our teachers and staff for their accomplishments and their dedicated service. Thank you to every teacher and staff member for their help in making the 2025-2026 school year one to remember."
